“Favorite Poem of Lakesh”
Feb 19, 2014

Max: How about reading your favorite poem by others, reading by someone else.
Lakesh: Another poem? Something else?
Max: By—your favorite, or your favorite author.
Lakesh: There is—it’s sometimes hard to translate these poems into English, you understand that?
Max: Yeah, take the one that…
Lakesh: We take the most artistic Earth route with our language. But our language is different and uses words differently than your language does. So when I read this next poem, you may not understand it.
Max: Ok.
Lakesh: Because the way, and the placement of the words are just not human.
Max: Let’s just see how it goes.
Lakesh: Ok. Well, ok if you would really like me to do that.
Max: Thank you.
Lakesh: Let me find it.
Grandeur Epic
Manevolent*, malevolent, sounding grand,
Talking fissures standing tall,
Relating to the sign of different sects of genes in science,
Sorrowful is the green, sorrowful green night,
Thirsty for energy in the positive realm,
Broken by fourth, driven by third,
The science of dreams sends down the thoughts of trees and plants,
And no one shares the cosmos with a handful of dirt.
Max: Great! It’s very good.
Lakesh: Do you understand it?
Max: I understand some of it, for sure. It has I would say, yeah. I sense a layer of meanings which make sense to me.
Lakesh: Ok, very good.
Max: Is third and fourth or fifth and fourth a dimension, or is it anything else?
Lakesh: It would translate dimensional and otherwise. We have third and fourth which have double meanings. So, yes: third and fourth would be dimensional as well as third and fourth levels of education, third and fourth levels of relationships.
Max: Perfect, perfect. More poetry please, because you know, it is– first I am collecting the book of poetry, a collection of poetry. It will be the first galactic collection of poetry ever on earth, if you don’t count the Bible.
Lakesh: I see.
Max: Second after Bible.
Lakesh: I see.
Max: Whatever you like.
Lakesh: Oh, ok. But don’t – wouldn’t you rather have something else other than poetry?
Max: Poetry is so much more condensed.
Lakesh: I see.
End
*Note to reader: The pronunciation on the first word sounds to me like M-N sound and the second word M-L sound. I have listened to it on super loud all kinds of ways, but the word makes no sense coming from an alien for such an obscure word of ours (that many mistakenly use in place of the second word!). My other thought was to use ‘benevolent’ since B and M sound similar, but I just wasn’t hearing it. The vid quality, (even in YT) was not sharp enough to lipread. It could be “malevolent, malevolent”. Lakesh may just have to clear this one up for us.
