Poem for Tekkrr- “Lyra and Vega”
This is a poem from a science fiction novel I began to write a few years ago. Max, please read this to Tekkrr next time she is here? 🙂
Lyra and Vega
He a noble, she a queen,
With eyes that sparkled emerald green,
Who once ruled Siston, Min and Dur,
With iron fists, but fair and pure.
Who shared a bond was so profound,
It formed a vibrant living crown,
They tossed into the sky above,
As testimony of their love.
And to this day no one is wise,
As to the hows of their demise.
Why Lyra’s lost and can’t be found,
While Vega roams, a vagabond.
From star to star and planets far.
Searching for his dear Lyra.
And if you look from here or there,
The Constellation, like her hair,
Still sparkles red and blue and white,
While Vegas’ star burns hot and bright.
To guide some day his fair love home.
To don her crown, and cease to roam.
